Position Overview: Clinical Nurse (Pediatrics)
Location: DHA San Diego Market
Salary: $131,150 – $166,559 annually
Schedule: Rotating shifts; evenings and weekends as needed

Key Responsibilities
-
Provide comprehensive nursing care to infants and children.
-
Maintain accurate patient medical history and vital signs.
-
Coordinate lab tests and assist with patient diagnostics.

Educate patients and families on care plans and health conditions.
-
Demonstrate leadership in team coordination and workflow.
-
Mentor and train support medical staff.
-
Perform triage and assess patient conditions.

Track HEDIS measures and communicate results per guidelines.
Employment Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass a background investigation.

Secret security clearance required.

Subject to drug screening and seasonal flu vaccination.

Hepatitis B immunization required.

Must complete a pre-employment medical exam.

Moderate to heavy lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required.

Rotating shifts and on-call work (evenings, weekends, holidays) may be required.
Qualifications
Education:
-
Nursing degree (associate, bachelor’s, or higher) from an accredited institution.
-
Foreign degrees must be certified by the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools.
Licensure:
-
Must hold an active, unrestricted nursing license in a U.S. state or territory.
-
Must have passed the NCLEX exam.
Experience:
-
At least one year of professional nursing experience (GS-9 level or equivalent), preferably in pediatrics, with skills in triage, medication administration, and patient education.
OR -
A doctoral degree in nursing or a related medical science field.
Exemption:
If currently employed in the 0610 federal occupational series since before Sept 27, 2017, different qualifications may apply.
