Position Overview
As a Host at Fairway Market, you’ll be the first and last point of contact for our guests—setting the tone for an outstanding dining experience. We’re looking for warm, welcoming individuals who thrive in a fast-paced café environment and are passionate about customer service.
What You’ll Do

Greet guests with a friendly and professional attitude

Assess dining needs and manage the seating chart to ensure smooth flow

Monitor restaurant activity and adjust seating arrangements accordingly

Answer guest questions and handle requests promptly and courteously

Assist with opening and closing duties

Support the team by helping with side tasks like folding silverware, cleaning, and restocking

Maintain knowledge of store products and offerings to answer customer inquiries

Ensure high standards of cleanliness, accuracy, and safety are consistently met

Perform basic math tasks including percentages and discounts
Requirements
-
Proficient in English (verbal and written)

Prior experience with cleaning and general café/restaurant tasks preferred

Familiarity with registers and ability to learn new digital systems

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs

Comfortable working in refrigerated, high-moisture, or high-heat environments

Able to work around food products and common cleaning chemicals
Work Environment

Location: Fairway Market Café – 2131 Broadway, NYC

Setting: Café, customer-facing role
-
Physical Demands: Standing, walking, lifting, exposure to kitchen/cooler environments
Pay Range: $16.00 – $18.00/hour
Job Type: Part-time or Full-time opportunities available depending on location needs
