Job Description

Position Summary:

Gulf Air is seeking a results-oriented Financial Controller to lead all finance-related activities at our U.S. station. This is a strategic role that ensures financial integrity, regulatory compliance, cost efficiency, and robust financial reporting to headquarters. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting experience, preferably in the airline industry, and be capable of leading station-level finance operations with excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Compliance:

  • Direct and control all financial operations including revenue, payables, receivables, payroll, general ledger, and taxation.

  • Maintain accurate accounting records, reconciliations, and documentation.

  • Implement corporate accounting systems and internal controls in line with headquarters’ policies.

  • Ensure compliance with local laws and US financial regulations.

  • Act as liaison with auditors and tax authorities.

Budgeting & Financial Planning:

  • Prepare and oversee annual budgets and capital plans.

  • Monitor expenditures and ensure adherence to budget limits.

  • Provide detailed financial analyses to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Revenue & Credit Management:

  • Manage sales collection accounts and ensure timely bank reconciliations.

  • Oversee revenue reporting, refunds, and fund repatriation to HQ.

  • Review aging reports and drive receivable collection efforts.

  • Handle Agent Debit Memo (ADM) tracking and recovery.

Expenditure Oversight:

  • Control petty cash and ensure proper processing of claims and reimbursements.

  • Monitor vendor payments, ensuring compliance with contracts and service agreements.

  • Oversee station payroll and expense claims according to company policies.

Liaison & Representation:

  • Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies (e.g., BSP, tax authorities).

  • Represent the company at financial forums such as Board of Airline Representatives and BSP meetings.

  • Support insurance, legal, and contractual obligations at the station level.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and evaluate finance staff performance.

  • Provide training, support, and guidance to subordinates.

  • Ensure department maintains high standards of accuracy and professionalism.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Preferred Certifications: CPA, CMA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification

  • Experience: 5–7 years in a similar financial controller or senior accounting role; airline industry experience preferred

  • Skills:

    • Strong accounting knowledge and understanding of financial systems

    • Proficiency in financial report writing and interpretation

    • Effective communication and leadership skills

    • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability

  • Language: Fluency in written and spoken English is required

  • Salary: $16/hour
